Frequently Asked Questions
Is this emergency medical transportation?
No. Amelia Island Transportation provides scheduled, non-emergency transportation only. For a medical emergency, call 911.
Can a family member or caregiver ride with me?
Yes. Family members, caregivers, and companions are welcome when the group fits safely and comfortably in the reserved vehicle.
Can the driver wait during my appointment?
Sometimes. Waiting may be possible for shorter appointments when arranged in advance. Longer appointments may be better handled with a scheduled return pickup or a separate return driver.
What happens if my appointment runs late?
Keep your phone available and contact us as soon as possible. We will adjust when our schedule allows. If the original driver cannot remain available, another return plan may be needed.
Do your vehicles have wheelchair lifts?
No. Our vehicles do not have wheelchair lifts. Contact us before booking to discuss mobility needs and determine whether our vehicles are appropriate.
Can you take me to Mayo Clinic?
Yes. Mayo Clinic Jacksonville is one of the medical destinations we serve.
Can I schedule recurring medical transportation?
Potentially, yes. Recurring transportation depends on appointment dates, timing, destination, and vehicle availability.
How far in advance should I reserve?
We recommend booking as early as possible. A week in advance gives you a better chance of securing the needed time, although customers should still call for shorter-notice requests.
Can you provide transportation outside Jacksonville?
Our normal service area centers on Amelia Island and Jacksonville, but regional medical trips may be considered. Contact us for a custom quote.
